Welcome
I am the resident map geek at BYU. Since 1997, I have been teaching GIS and Cartography here, and my primary research focus is in historical GIS, historical cartography, and interactive cartography. I am currently the director of the BYU Mapping Services Lab, which creates maps for faculty and staff across campus. I also run a small freelance cartography business at home, Kinesava Geographics, which is most well known for the maps in the DEX phone directories for most of Utah. In 2005, I was president of the Cartography and Geographic Information Society, and currently sit on the boards of the Utah Geographic Information Council and North American Cartographic Information Society.
